Glen Rock Library Spring Story Times
The 2014 five week Spring Story Time Session for children from ages 3 to Kindergarten-age will be offered on Wednesday mornings beginning on April 8th. Three-year-olds will meet from 9:30 to 10:00 and Fours, Fives and Kindergarten age children will enjoy their program from 10:30 to 11:00. Please register for this free program in the Children’s Room.
Peter and the Wolf
Glen Rock families with children ages 5 and up have a very special opportunity to enjoy a performance of Prokiofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf” performed by members of the NJ Symphony Orchestra at the Library on Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 or at 3:30. Featuring instruments of the woodwind family – the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn, the quintet demonstrates not only how well the instruments play together, but also what makes them each unique. This program is made possible by a grant from Camp Yaw Paw. Registration is required.
Julie Della Torre will tell tales of the Lenni Lenape, a Native American tribe who once lived in the area, at the Glen Rock Library in celebration of the 350th anniversary of the founding of New Jersey. The program sponsored by The Friends of the Library and The Glen Rock Historical and Preservation Society, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 29. Registration takes place in the Childrens Room.
Spring has finally arrived! It is always important for everyone to remember our Parking Safety Procedures. Please share this with all caregivers who pick up or drop off your child at Coleman.
There is a cone on the corner of our loop and Pinelynn Road reminding drivers not to park or stop their car at the yellow curb. Drivers in this space or double parked anywhere on Pinelynn Road are creating an unsafe situation as they are blocking the vision of drivers exiting our loop and turning onto Pinelynn. We appreciate the support of our Glen Rock Police officers who continue to ticket these drivers.
At pick up drivers may key up behind the angled Staff Parking in our loop. However, everyone must remain in their car and be aware of your surroundings should you need to move your car around the loop. Keying up adjacent to the cars in the visitor spaces in our loop is NEVER allowed. It blocks anyone from getting around the loop, creating an unsafe situation by not allowing cars to move through the loop.
Also, leaving your car unattended in front of Coleman or driving through/parking in our Staff lot is prohibited at any time.
As always, we appreciate families and caregivers who drive safely and courteously every day and work with us to enforce these parking procedures,
