Stories from the Rock: Lenape Tales
Gather round and listen to tales the Lenni Lenape, a Native American tribe who once lived in this area, may have told on cold winter nights. At 2:00 on Saturday, March 29th renowned storyteller Julie Della Torre will captivate her audience at a special event celebrating the 350th anniversary of the founding of New Jersey. Please register in the Children's Room for this program sponsored by The Friends of the Library and The Glen Rock Historical and Preservation Society.
While the colder temperatures and inclement weather this winter have brought more drivers than those walking to Coleman, it is important for everyone to remember our Parking Safety Procedures. Please share this with all caregivers who pick up or drop off your child at Coleman.
There is a cone on the corner of our loop and Pinelynn Road reminding drivers not to park or stop their car at the yellow curb. Drivers in this space or double parked anywhere on Pinelynn Road are creating an unsafe situation as they are blocking the vision of drivers exiting our loop and turning onto Pinelynn. We appreciate the support of our Glen Rock Police officers who continue to ticket these drivers.
At pick up drivers may key up behind the angled Staff Parking in our loop. However, everyone must remain in their car and be aware of your surroundings should you need to move your car around the loop. Keying up adjacent to the cars in the visitor spaces in our loop is NEVER allowed. It blocks anyone from getting around the loop, creating an unsafe situation by not allowing cars to move through the loop.
Also, leaving your car unattended in front of Coleman or driving through/parking in our Staff lot is prohibited at any time.
As always, we appreciate families and caregivers who drive safely and courteously every day and work with us to enforce these parking procedures,
